Overview

The Bank Teller serves as the frontline representative of the branch, handling over-the-counter transactions with accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism. This role ensures that customers receive exceptional service while maintaining compliance with the bank's operational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. The Teller also promotes banking products and services to support branch growth and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities
  • Process daily banking transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, loan payments, and bills payment.
  • Verify the accuracy of cash, checks, and other negotiable instruments while adhering to fraud detection and security protocols.
  • Balance cash drawers and reconcile daily transactions to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving concerns efficiently.
  • Cross-sell and promote bank products and services, referring clients to other branch officers when appropriate.
  • Safeguard branch assets by strictly following audit, risk management, and compliance guidelines.
  • Maintain proper records and documentation of transactions in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support branch initiatives by participating in sales campaigns, customer engagement, and service improvement programs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or any related field (Associate degree may be considered with relevant experience).
  • Prior experience in banking, customer service, or cash handling preferred.
  • Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in transaction processing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Knowledge of banking operations, AML (Anti-Money Laundering), and KYC (Know Your Customer) policies is an advantage.
