Role Overview

The Category Manager will own the end-to-end performance of assigned FMCG categories, driving growth by managing key business drivers—assortment, pricing, promotions, views & conversions, and availability. This role combines strategic supplier partnership with data-driven decision-making to deliver profitable, sustainable growth. The Category Manager will leverage Growsari's first-party data, hyperlocal marketing capabilities, and distribution network to create winning category strategies and joint business plans with suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Category Strategy:
    Develop and execute plans across the five growth levers—assortment, pricing, promotions, views & conversions, and availability—identifying gaps and opportunities through performance reviews.
  • Supplier Partnerships:
    Build and implement data-driven joint business plans with FMCG suppliers; conduct regular business reviews to track progress and address challenges.
  • Assortment & Pricing:
    Optimize SKU mix, launch NPIs and promo packs, and set competitive, profitable pricing in line with category targets and market benchmarks.
  • Promotions & Activations:
    Secure supplier-funded promos and lead targeted campaigns to boost awareness, conversion, and category growth.
  • Availability:
    Align forecasts with suppliers, maintain optimal inventory levels, and ensure contingency sourcing when needed.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with supply chain, marketing, and analytics teams to deliver on category initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in category management, trade marketing, or account management (FMCG experience preferred).
  • Strong commercial acumen with ability to interpret and act on data.
  • Excellent supplier relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
