This is a challenging position for those with good English-writing skills and sound financial accounting knowledge. The job involves real-time monitoring of news releases, financial information and regulatory filings affecting listed companies in North America. Applicants should be prepared to start work as soon as possible.

  • University graduate in accounting, finance and business related discipline.
  • Strong accounting background.
  • Proficiency in English communication skills, both reading and writing. Should be able to summarize business news releases using clear and concise English sentences. Attentiveness to detail in grammar, spelling and financial data entry is essential.
  • Computer Skills. Applicants should have multi-tasking skills with ability to engage in active web-based research, navigate across multiple application platforms without difficulty.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities involve ensuring accuracy and timeliness of real-time corporate information. Duties include tracking and monitoring newswires, exchange filings, company news bulletins to track corporate developments such as releases of financial information and major corporate activities including:

  • Quarterly and annual releases of financial statements
  • Shifts in business operations and activities
  • Changes in officers, directors and major shareholders and related companies
  • Mergers and acquisitions and reverse takeovers
  • share consolidation and split

Position will provide successful applicants with opportunity to acquire deep understanding of Canadian businesses and gain relevant experience required for a CFA designation.
