Key Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain Management: Overseeing the entire supply chain process to ensure the smooth flow of materials and products.
  • Inventory and Warehouse Management: Monitoring stock levels, tracking incoming and outgoing goods, managing warehouse space, and implementing safety and security procedures.
  • Transportation and Shipping: Coordinating and scheduling shipments, planning efficient transportation routes, and tracking the movement of goods.
  • Vendor and Supplier Relations: Negotiating contracts and rates with transportation vendors and suppliers, and managing these relationships.
  • Cost Optimization: Analyzing and optimizing logistics processes to improve efficiency and reduce overall costs.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Preparing reports on supply chain performance, analyzing data, and providing insights to management.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local laws, international trade agreements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Resolving issues related to shipments, inventory, equipment malfunctions, or bottlenecks in the supply chain.

Typical Skills and Qualifications

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with logistics software, inventory databases, and other relevant technologies.
  • Analytical and Critical Thinking: The ability to analyze data, identify problems, and develop strategic solutions.
  • Negotiation Skills: The ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and clients on costs, contracts, and deadlines.
  • Communication and Coordination: Strong skills in coordinating with various departments, vendors, and staff to ensure smooth operations.
