EMR Healthcare Specialist

SCOPE OF WORK:
Plays a crucial role in leveraging Information Technology to positively impact the patient-clinician relationship through effective collection, safeguarding, and understanding of health data. Responsible for the optimization, governance and maintenance of the different clinical workflows surrounding the institution's clinical information systems. Performs assessment, coordination, design, testing, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of the business-side of the clinical information system projects. Supports physicians and other healthcare team members by providing continuous guidance and assistance in identifying opportunities for system improvements to enhance overall quality and effectiveness of healthcare delivery. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems, including hardware failures, software glitches, and connectivity issues. Escalate complex problems to higher-level support teams when necessary.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
- Works within Company Center's Vision, Mission, and Values to achieve operational goals of the institution.
- Collaborates with the different IT departments in selecting, implementing, and optimizing the EMR systems and other healthcare software.
- Leads minor and major projects as project manager/project lead that may or may not be dependent on existing Company systems.
- Leads, coordinates, recommends, and guides stakeholders in the optimization of the EMR and other Hospital applications for process enhancements.
- Ensures that all enhancements requested by end users have been checked for any duplication, unaccepted abbreviations, copyright compliance.
- Assesses the request for impact on workflow, policy, company standards, and need for additional/new hardware.
- Provides system specifications of how a feature/report/enhancement is to be built in the EMR.
- Tests IT-built system enhancements for accuracy and if it satisfies expected user interface/experience.
- Facilitates user acceptance testing, records findings and requests for rectification as needed.
- Updates and cascades new available feature/enhancements to end users through Memos and user guides.
- Evaluates system adoption after deployment.
- Evaluates enhancements facilitated for production promotion.
- Reviews training plans of the HR- training department and suggests/recommends appropriate training content with emphasis on the encountered common issues raised in the clinical areas.
- Ensures appropriate use of the OCIS in clinical practice.
- Performs compliance and utilization monitoring every after implementation of major projects.
- Participates in the departmental/functional group rounds.
- Develops a working knowledge of all clinical information systems in place as well as the infrastructure for the clinical information systems to support the staff and leadership in troubleshooting, upgrades, and training.
- Contributes to the institution through innovation and advancement.
- All other tasks not written here but are deemed by department manager as appropriate.
JOB REQUIREMENTS / COMPETENCIES:
- Possess a bachelor's degree from an approved clinical school.
- With at least (1) year work experience in the clinical setting; similar hospital experience from another institution is accepted.
- At least 1 year experience in using EMRs is a plus.
- Knows and can apply basic Health Informatics concepts and principles.
Skills/Competencies and Personal Attributes:
- Ability to collect pertinent information related to potential system upgrades.
- Proficient in assessing data to determine the target needs.
- Well versed on implementing programs using the recent trends on project management.
- Skills to ensure planned training activities are implemented and the knowledge to conduct comprehensive evaluations of all educational activities.
- Knowledge of a variety of training options such as academic education, experiential learning, consultation, teaching others, professional reading, distance learning, research and self– directed activities.
- Computer literate, updated with the latest trends and functions of the department and are applicable in a Tertiary Hospital Institution.
- Assertive yet able to relate with different types of people, keen observer and result– oriented, demonstrates sound professional judgment; able to relate and communicate to people of different level and class.
- Presentable, strong work ethics, honest, trustworthy, with high level of integrity and maturity.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php35, Php40,000.00 per month
