Job Summary

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen utensils, dishware, glassware, cookware, and equipment. This role ensures the kitchen and dishwashing areas remain organized, safe, and hygienic to support smooth café and restaurant operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using dishwashing machines or manual cleaning methods.
  • Ensure proper sanitation of dishware and kitchen tools according to food safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, sinks, and surrounding workspaces.
  • Assist in the proper storage of cleaned items, ensuring they are readily available for use.
  • Dispose of garbage and waste properly, following sanitation and recycling guidelines.
  • Monitor dishwashing supplies (detergents, sanitizers) and report shortages to the Chef de Partie.
  • Assist in cleaning kitchen floors, walls, and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure dishwashing machines and equipment are operated and maintained properly.
  • Support kitchen staff during busy service periods when required.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Chef de Partie or F&B Supervisor.

Key Competencies / Skills

  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices in F&B operations
  • Physical stamina for standing and handling dishwashing tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under pressure
  • Attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Team player with a cooperative attitude

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 6 months – 1 year of experience as a dishwasher or steward, preferably in cafés or restaurants in La Union
  • Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and sanitizing equipment
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays

Work Environment / Conditions

  • Based in café and restaurant kitchens within La Union properties
  • Physically demanding role requiring manual labor and standing for long hours
  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Fast-paced back-of-house environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php Php468.00 per day
