A Line Cook is responsible for preparing food and ensuring it is presented to the highest standards. This position involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and supporting the kitchen staff in delivering high-quality dishes consistently. The line cook will follow established recipes and work efficiently to help ensure timely service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation:

Prepare and cook food to order according to recipes and restaurant standards. Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service requirements. Set up and stock workstations with all necessary ingredients and supplies.

  • Cooking & Cooking Stations:

Operate and maintain cooking equipment, such as grills, fryers, ovens, and stovetops. Work at different stations in the kitchen (e.g., grill, sauté, fryer, etc.) as required during service. Monitor food temperatures and ensure the proper use of food safety protocols.

  • Quality Control:

Ensure all dishes are cooked to specification and maintain a high standard of presentation. Inspect food before and after cooking to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Cleanliness & Organization:

Keep workstations, kitchen tools, and utensils clean and organized throughout the shift. Follow proper hygiene and safety standards, including sanitizing work areas and equipment. Assist with cleaning the kitchen at the end of shifts, including dishwashing, sweeping, and mopping.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

Work efficiently with other cooks and kitchen staff to maintain smooth operations. Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure timely meal preparation and orders are filled.

  • Inventory Management:

Help with the inventory process, ensuring that ingredients are stocked and properly rotated. Report any shortages or equipment issues to the head chef or kitchen manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role.

  • Knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and maintain focus under pressure.

  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for food quality.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to take direction and work independently when necessary.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal culinary training is a plus.

  • years of experience in a kitchen, with a focus on line cooking.

Working Conditions:
