Your Role

The
Institutional Finance Associate
is responsible for ensuring the accounting and regulatory financial reporting standards. Standard Practice Instructions (SPIs), Operations Manual (OMs), and Circulars; and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The incumbent is also required to ensure that risks in the following areas are mitigated: Erroneous and inaccurate financial reports and Audit findings due to non-compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory policies and procedures.

How you can contribute

  • Reviews and ensures accuracy and completeness of manual journal entries for posting in the general ledger
  • Ensures transactions posted the previous day are circulated to Operations/HO units/Branches for any discrepancies
  • Prepares and/or reviews balance sheet account schedules for regulatory and management reporting
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline recon process and recommends appropriate changes (thru automation, or change of process at source level)
  • Co-leads/Participates in user acceptance testing (UAT) for process automation and new product initiatives of the bank
  • Handles queries and provides guidance to Operations/HO units/Branches on accounting matters
  • Reviews processes of other units to understand flow of transactions and its effects to the GL
  • Drafts policies and procedures, as applicable
  • Drafts new SLAs and updates existing SLAs, as applicable
  • Conducts risks and controls self-assessment

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Information Technology, or any related course
  • Must have relevant experience at least 1-3 years
  • Experience in reconciliation
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel (VBA and Macro)
  • Good communication skills
  • Background in project management, testing, and monitoring
