About the Job:

We're looking for a skilled Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to join our team If you have a strong background in technical accounting, experience in payroll and accounts payable, and enjoy working with complex Excel datasets, this role could be a great fit. You'll play a key role in supporting our financial operations by maintaining accurate records, managing rent and lease schedules, and delivering meaningful insights through reporting and analysis. What You'll Do:

• Lead the monthly close for key financial areas—including payroll, leases, accruals, and expense allocations—ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and data integrity.
• Manage and analyze lease and rent schedules in alignment with ASC 842 standards, providing clear reporting to support compliance and strategic planning.
• Own payroll-related accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis to ensure accurate capture of employee costs.
• Oversee accounts payable activities, coordinating with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely, accurate payments and strong vendor relationships.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to build and maintain complex financial models that support budgeting, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
• Prepare documentation and respond to audit requests from both internal and external stakeholders to support a strong control environment.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, and department leaders to deliver accurate financial data that drives strategic initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, system enhancements, and workflow efficiencies to help scale the finance function effectively.

What You'll Bring:

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license or progress toward certification is a strong plus.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in fast-paced settings such as healthcare, multi-site operations, or startups.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, with hands-on experience in lease accounting (ASC 842) and payroll processes.
• Proven experience with statistical accounts and multi-entity consolidations, especially in organizations with complex structures.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, nested formulas, and large dataset analysis.
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms like Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or QuickBooks.
• Experience with payroll systems such as Gusto or ADP, ensuring accurate payroll accounting and seamless GL integration.
• Hands-on use of A/P automation tools like or Tipalti, with a strong understanding of efficient payable workflows.
• Analytical mindset with sharp attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a strong commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly in a dynamic, evolving environment.
