The General Accountant plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for our logistics operations, which span domestic forwarding, international shipping, warehousing, and e-fulfillment. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations, month-end closing, tax compliance, and financial controls to help maintain the integrity of the company's financial records.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, supporting schedules, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor accruals, prepayments, and amortizations to ensure accurate period reporting.
  • Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

  • Review and verify invoices, expense reports, and supplier billings for completeness and correctness.
  • Process payments and ensure alignment with company policies and approval limits.

Tax Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

  • Assist in the monthly tax returns  preparation (VAT, withholding taxes) and ensure timely filing and payment.
  • Assist in preparing requirements for BIR audits, LGU permits, and other regulatory submissions.
  • Ensure proper documentation in line with audit and regulatory standards.

Cash Management

  • Assist in  monitoring  bank transactions , petty cash replenishments, and  posting of collections.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure resolution of reconciling items.

Internal Controls & Process Improvements

  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal control procedures.
  • Support process improvements, documentation updates, and audit requirements.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 2–3 years relevant experience; logistics, warehousing, or freight forwarding experience is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of PH accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Proficient in MS Excel; experience with SAP, ERP or accounting systems is preferred.
  • Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and integrity in handling financial data.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment.
