JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Crew Operator is the person responsible in the overall documentation of seafarers from recruitment to deployment, ensuring that all statutory, mandatory, national, and international (STCW), Flag State and Principal requirements are met.

In the absence of the Crew Operator, the Junior Fleet Manager will take over all his/her task related to operational matters.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be a graduate of any bachelor's degree course.
  2. Must have an extensive experience in crew manning or Shipmanagement for a minimum of 2 years holding a similar position or its equivalent if of technical background.
  3. Must have an extensive experience in crew manning or Shipmanagement for a minimum of 3 years holding a similar position or its equivalent if of non-technical background.
Core Job Functions:

  1. The crew operator is responsible in issuing medical referral slips for pre-employment medical examination and to follow-up and verify the results with the providers.
  2. Prepare the seafarer's employment contract and ensure that all required details indicated on the contracts are complete, accurate and updated in accordance with the wage component as approved by POEA.
  3. Coordinates the dispatch of the seafarers making sure that all their travel documents are complete. They are also responsible for requesting of travel allowances in coordination with the accounting department.
  4. Responsible for creating contract extensions for the onboard seafarers in coordination with the principal.
  5. Responsible for the filing of all onboard processing of COP's.
  6. Responsible for the monitoring of all pending documents of the ashore seafarers.
  7. Responsible for requesting PPE's and uniforms in coordination with the purchasing officer.
  8. Responsible for coordinating with the encoders and to monitor the lacking documents uploaded on the database.
  9. Responsible in sending to all concerned department a notice of departing schedule prior the dispatch of the seafarers.
