Electrical Engineer – Solar Projects

Duties and Responsibilitiesd

Design:

· Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies.

· Develop detailed designs and layouts for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for a project

· Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Sketchup to create accurate and efficient system designs.

· Design electrical wiring plans, including the integration of solar systems with existing electrical infrastructure.

· Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and standards.

· Prepare detailed technical reports, design documents, and construction drawings.

· Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical specifications for procurement.

· Ensure all designs and installations meet regulatory requirements, building codes, and safety standards.

· Prepare and submit necessary documentation for permitting and approvals.

· Prepare commissioning reports and as-built documentation.

· Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to align design objectives with project goals.

Project Implementation:

· Provide technical guidance during installation and construction.

· Oversee site preparation, equipment installation, and electrical works.

· Monitor construction progress to ensure alignment with design and schedule.

· Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

· Generate regular progress reports and project documentation.

· Maintain clear and organized records of all project-related activities.

· Conduct quality checks to ensure adherence to design and safety standards.

· Troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical issues.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; Registered Electrical Engineer.

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on solar energy and Design Engineering

· Strong knowledge of local statutory rules and regulations related to solar energy projects.

· Technical expertise in solar energy systems and technologies.

· Familiarity with environmental and safety standards.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
