Editor (Short-Form Content & Creative Assembly)

Works Closely With: DP / Lighting Lead, Creative Assurance Lead (Vincent), LA Creative Director (remote), AI Systems Lead (Erick), Camera Team, Recruiting Manager (Katherine)

Location: White Plains Creator House – Editor's Room

Role Purpose

• The In-House Editor is the post-production command center for the White Plains Creator House.
• This person takes raw daily footage from multiple sets — lifestyle, live-selling, gym, and studio — and turns it into polished, engaging, U.S.-style short-form content ready for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
• They're not just a cutter; they're a creative storyteller who understands pacing, music, sound, and emotional rhythm — ensuring every edit feels natural, fast, and authentically "LA."
• This role connects the creative output of the house directly to your marketing, AI data systems, and performance testing pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

Post-Production Workflow

• Import, organize, and sync all footage from daily shoots (multi-set, multi-camera).
• Deliver same-day rough cuts for review by the Producer and Vincent.
• Apply LUTs, color correction, and light grading consistent with the DP's visual standards.
• Mix sound, add transitions, lower-thirds, captions, and SFX for finished versions.
• Prepare deliverables in multiple aspect ratios (9:16, 1:1, 16:9) optimized for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.

Creative Storytelling

• Edit for rhythm and emotion, matching the tone of American-style storytelling — quick, relatable, aspirational.
• Identify and cut key moments, reactions, and hooks within the first 3 seconds.
• Suggest cuts or improvements to the Producer for reshoots if key shots are missing.
• Maintain consistent pacing, branding, and visual language across all content.
• Collaborate with Vincent and LA Creative Director for authenticity scoring and
• refinement.

Data Integration & Archiving

• Coordinate with Erick's AI systems to tag and log all edited content with metadata (creator, product, visual tone, performance notes).
• Export and store all final files to shared NAS and cloud systems daily.
• Maintain clean file-naming conventions and organized project archives for fast retrieval.

Collaboration

• Attend shoot debriefs with the DP and Producer to review visual performance.
• Work with the Recruiting Manager (Katherine) to compile highlight reels for new talent auditions.
• Support marketing and social media teams by providing pre-formatted deliverables for scheduling.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of experience as a video editor, post-production lead, or short-form content creator.
• Expert in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve (CapCut Pro or After Effects proficiency a plus).
• Deep understanding of short-form video pacing — TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts.
• Strong color correction, grading, and audio balancing skills.
• Proven ability to edit fast — capable of producing multiple 30–60 sec deliverables per day.
• Fluent English comprehension and ability to understand Western humor, tone, and emotion.
• Experience working with creative teams, DPs, and producers in fast-paced environments.

KPIs (First 60 Days)

• Deliver rough cuts within 6–8 hours of filming for 90% of projects.
• Maintain consistent color and sound quality across all published content.
• Achieve ≥ 90% approval rate from Vincent / LA Creative Director on first review.
• Build and document the house editing workflow SOP, including file organization, render presets, and delivery standards.
• Support AI tagging of all edited clips (minimum 3 metadata tags per output).

Setup & Workstation

• Dedicated Editor's Room in the White Plains Creator House.
• Equipped with a high-speed workstation (multi-core CPU, 64GB RAM, RTX GPU).
• Dual monitors, reference display for grading, and local SSD + NAS backup system.
• Private, quiet space to maintain uninterrupted creative flow while staying accessible to the Producer and DP for real-time feedback.
