Job Summary:

This role involves planning, managing agricultural activities, supervising staff, monitoring environmental compliance, and liaising with stakeholders. The Plantations Manager will also coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and corporate teams to align plantation activities with company goals, especially within renewable energy or biomass production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage overall plantation operations, from planning, land preparation, planting, harvesting, to post-harvest activities.
  • Develop and implement plantation management plans, budgets, and strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Supervise daily operations, including workforce management, equipment utilization, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and company policies.
  • Monitor crop performance, production yield, soil health, and pest management systems.
  • Oversee procurement and proper use of materials, fertilizers, and agricultural machinery.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, engineering, and operations teams, especially if integrated with biomass or renewable energy projects.
  • Lead and develop a team of supervisors, agronomists, and plantation workers to achieve performance targets.
  • Report regularly on plantation performance, risks, and improvement plans to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Forestry, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in plantation management, agricultural operations, or similar roles.
  • Proven experience in Forestry is a must
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage large teams and operations.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices, environmental regulations, and occupational health & safety standards
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and plantation management systems or ERP tools
