Job Summary:

We are seeking a results-driven Operations Manager (Forestry and Plantation) to oversee day-to-day operations of our plantation and forestry activities. This role involves managing agricultural and forestry operations, supervising teams, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders. The Operations Manager will be instrumental in aligning plantation operations with corporate objectives, especially in renewable energy or biomass production initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage overall forestry and plantation operations, including land preparation, planting, harvesting, and post-harvest activities.
  • Develop and implement operational plans, budgets, and resource allocation strategies to meet production and sustainability targets.
  • Supervise workforce, including supervisors, agronomists, and field staff, ensuring safety, productivity, and adherence to company policies.
  • Monitor crop performance, soil health, pest management systems, and production yields to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Oversee procurement, utilization, and maintenance of agricultural and forestry equipment, fertilizers, and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and occupational health & safety practices.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, supply chain, and corporate teams to align forestry and plantation activities with overall business goals.
  • Prepare and submit regular performance, risk, and improvement reports to senior management.
  • Drive initiatives that promote sustainable practices and continuous operational improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in plantation or forestry operations, including large-scale agricultural projects.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex operations.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices, environmental regulations, and health & safety standards.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and plantation management systems or ERP tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders.
