Senior Instrumentation Engineer – Oil & Gas Design
(Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree

in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 8–15+ years

of relevant experience in Instrumentation & Control (I&C) engineering, specifically in
oil & gas projects

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • In-depth experience in:
  • Instrumentation design

for oil & gas facilities (wells, pipelines, processing plants, etc.)
- Field Instrumentation

: flow, pressure, level, temperature, and analytical instruments.
- Control systems

: DCS, ESD, PLC, SCADA, and F&G systems.
- Instrument sizing and selection

based on process data and specifications.
- Hook-up drawings

,
loop diagrams

, and
wiring diagrams

.
- Cable routing

, earthing, and hazardous area classification.
- Cause & Effect matrices

, logic diagrams, and control narratives.
- Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)

design and SIL classification (per IEC
- Instrument Index

and I/O lists preparation using tools like SPI (Intools).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the instrumentation engineering design for FEED/EPC oil & gas projects.
  • Prepare and review detailed engineering documents (specs, datasheets, layouts).
  • Ensure compliance with project scope, international codes, and client standards.
  • Interface with project stakeholders: clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Support procurement and construction phases.
  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and other safety reviews.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of working independently and managing multi-discipline teams.
  • Proficiency in technical report writing and presentation.
  • Willingness to travel or work at site locations as required.
