The Medical Billing Specialist-Payment Posting is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate payment of medical services rendered to our client's patients. This includes charge entry, collecting payments from insurance companies, and providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications & experience

  • Good English communication skills both verbal and written
  • Must have at least 1 year of BPO/CSR working experience

Tasks & responsibilities

  1. Posts all Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) on APM daily

  2. Downloads all the Electronic Funds Transfer Explanations of Benefits of the

insurance such as UHC, Tricare, VSP, and UHA of all the accounts assigned in the

website 1-2 times a week

  1. Checks all EOBs daily, reports to the Supervisor and Account Manager the missing

EOB dates and files

  1. Checks that all lockboxes, EFTS, ICKs are posted correctly

  2. Reports to the Supervisor and Account Manager of any miscellaneous documents

found in Lockbox/ EOB files

  1. Ensures that all EOBs in the Client's Folder are posted on time, considered as behind

schedule if EOBs are not posted within three days

  1. Ensures that all allowances, payments from insurance, write- offs, deductibles and

interests are posted correctly

  1. Posts and notates denials in the Appeals and Follow- up, assigns denials to the

appropriate staff

  1. Checks and applies all the unapplied payments of the patients on a daily basis

  2. Ensures that all payments and denials in APM ERA are posted correctly

  3. Runs Query Report APM-06 on a weekly basis; ensures that payments are not being

written off incorrectly

  1. Double- checks and updates of deposit logs in Client's Folder after posting of

payments at the end of the shift or depending on the accounts (daily, monthly

before the 5th of every month)

  1. Processes all patient statements on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on the

accounts

  1. Makes sure that the Summary Report for the lockbox in the EOB is balanced in the

Deposit Ticket (DTR) after every payment file
