  • Ensure compliance: Monitor and ensure the company adheres to all local, national, and regional environmental laws, regulations, and permits.
  • Manage pollution control: Oversee the proper operation and maintenance of pollution control facilities, such as wastewater treatment plants and air emission controls.
  • Handle waste: Manage the proper treatment, storage, and disposal of all waste, including solid and hazardous waste, and maintain associated records.
  • Monitor and report: Conduct regular monitoring and inspections of environmental aspects, analyze data, and prepare and submit required reports (e.g., Self-Monitoring Reports) to authorities like the EMB on time.
  • Permitting: Handle the application, renewal, and compliance for all necessary permits and licenses related to pollution sources and control facilities.
  • Incident response: Investigate environmental incidents and report them to the authorities within the stipulated time frame.
  • Training: Educate and train employees on environmental management and safety protocols.
  • Liaison: Act as the main point of contact between the company and government agencies such as the EMB and local pollution control offices.
  • Environmental planning: Identify environmental impacts and recommend mitigation measures, develop environmental programs, and assist with implementing environmental management systems.
