The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing engineering and technical aspects of assigned projects. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The position also provides technical leadership and supports junior engineers and project staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering activities across all project phases (planning, design, execution, and close-out)
  • Review and approve technical drawings, plans, specifications, and method statements
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Architects, Consultants, Contractors, and Clients
  • Monitor project progress, schedules, and budgets; recommend corrective actions when needed
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, contract requirements, and local regulations
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to approved plans
  • Resolve technical issues, design conflicts, and construction challenges
  • Prepare and review technical reports, progress reports, and documentation
  • Mentor and guide Junior Project Engineers and site engineers
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical inputs for decision-making
  • Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred, depending on jurisdiction)
  • At least
    5–8 years
    of relevant project engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering standards, and project management principles
  • Proficient in engineering software (AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools)
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
