Job Overview

The Production Line Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the module production line, ensuring that targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety procedures are followed. He/she serves as the primary point of contact for operators, provides guidance, technical support, and ensures efficient workflow within their assigned area. This role requires a strong understanding of the production process, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications, Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities:

Solar Module Manufacturing Operations' Operational Oversight

  • Direct and monitor the daily activities of production operators on the assigned line/cell to ensure smooth and continuous operation.
  • Ensure production schedules and output targets are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Manpower scheduling and allocation effectively based on production needs and operator skills.
  • Monitor material flow and ensure timely supply to the line to prevent stoppages.
  • Identify and resolve immediate operational issues or bottlenecks on the line.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular in-process quality checks and verifications to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Train and guide operators on quality standards, inspection techniques, and defect recognition.
  • Report non-conforming products or quality issues to the Production Supervisor and Quality Control department promptly.
  • Support root cause analysis for quality deviations and implement corrective actions.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide clear instructions, coaching, and on-the-job training to operators.
  • Foster a collaborative, disciplined, and high-performance work environment.
  • Monitor operator performance, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs.
  • Serve as the primary communication link between operators and the Production Supervisor.
  • Address minor interpersonal issues or conflicts within the team, escalating to the Production Supervisor when necessary.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety rules, company policies, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) on the line.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and promote a safety-conscious culture.
  • Report all incidents, near-misses, and safety hazards immediately.
  • Oversee proper housekeeping and 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) implementation within the work area.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Accurately complete all required production reports, downtime logs, and quality records.
  • Ensure operators correctly record their production data.
  • Report daily production output, efficiency, and any significant issues to the Production Supervisor.

Continuous Improvement

  • Actively participate in and support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, Lean manufacturing activities).
  • Suggest improvements to processes, equipment, and safety to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Assist in the implementation of new processes, methods, or equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Vocational/Technical course graduate (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Technology, Production Technology).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as a Manufacturing Line Leader/ Lead Role in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, and quality control principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, FMEA, HIRAC, Control Plan, and SOPs.
  • Knowledge of TMS is a plus.
  • Excellent communication (Tagalog and basic English) and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and train a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions on the production line.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Excel) for data entry and reporting is a plus.
  • Willingness to work in rotating shifts (e.g., 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift), including overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing duties in a manufacturing environment.
