Job Title: Warehouseman

Department: Logistics / Procurement

Reports To: Project Engineer

Job Summary:

The Warehouseman is responsible for the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of construction materials, tools, and equipment across multiple project sites. He ensures proper inventory management, timely deliveries, and accurate documentation to support smooth project operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management

  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using logbooks or inventory systems.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Ensure all materials are properly labeled and stored according to category and project allocation.

2. Material Handling and Distribution

  • Prepare and issue materials requested by various project sites.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, foremen, and drivers for delivery schedules.
  • Monitor and record the movement of materials in site
  • Ensure safe loading and unloading of materials and equipment.

3. Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare delivery receipts, withdrawal slips, and other inventory documents.
  • Submit daily/weekly inventory and material movement reports.
  • Keep organized records of deliveries, returns, and damaged materials.

4. Equipment and Tools Control

  • Monitor issuance and return of tools to project sites.
  • Tag and track all company tools and equipment for accountability.
  • Report any missing, damaged, or defective items immediately.

5. Coordination and Support

  • Support logistics and procurement teams in monitoring deliveries from suppliers.
  • Assist in transporting materials to project sites when needed (especially if with driving duties).
  • Coordinate with project engineers regarding stock levels and upcoming material needs.

Qualifications:

  • At least High School or Vocational Graduate.
  • With experience as a Warehouseman in a construction company is an advantage.
  • With valid driver's license and driving experience (if assigned to drive).
  • Knowledge in inventory procedures and material handling.
  • Physically fit, organized, and trustworthy.
  • Willing to travel or be assigned to different project sites as needed.
