Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Data Governance frameworks, policies, and standards across the organization.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability structures.
  • Assess and improve data architecture to ensure alignment with governance principles and business objectives.
  • Evaluate and implement data quality tools to monitor, cleanse, and standardize data across systems.
  • Lead initiatives in metadata management and maintain data cataloging solutions to enhance data discoverability and lineage tracking.
  • Ensure strong data security and access controls, aligning with regulatory requirements and internal security guidelines.
  • Support compliance, risk reduction, and data-related audits by ensuring proper data governance documentation.
  • Provide guidance, training, and best practices to stakeholders on data governance concepts and processes.
  • Partner with IT and business units to drive continuous improvement in data management and governance maturity.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance principles and frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DG maturity models).
  • Experience in data architecture design and alignment with enterprise data strategies.
  • Hands-on knowledge of data quality tools (e.g., Informatica DQ, Talend, Collibra DQ, etc.).
  • Experience with metadata management and data cataloging platforms.
  • Solid understanding of data security, including access control, encryption, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate governance recommendations clearly.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Experience in consulting or advisory roles is a plus.
