templates, banner ads, and presentations.
- Print: Brochures, sell sheets, case studies, business

and design solutions from scratch, either by hand or using

ensuring that all work is completed on time and within

What You Need
Skills & Experience
Preferred:
Key Qualifications
- Hard Skills (Technical & Foundational)
- Expertise in Design Software: This is non-negotiable for our
team. We expect candidates to be highly proficient in the
Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator (for logos and
vector graphics), InDesign (for multi-page layouts), and
Photoshop (for image manipulation and digital assets),
Figma (for UI and UX design, development and
presentation), Microsoft PPTX, Canva.
- A Strong Portfolio: Your portfolio is the single most
important qualification you can show us. It should
showcase a diverse range of projects and demonstrate your
design process. We want to see how you approach a
project, from initial concept sketches and mood boards to
the final product. Demonstrated experience in professional
services is important.
- Deep Understanding of Design Principles: We need to see
that you have a solid grasp of core design principles. We're
looking for an understanding of color theory, typography,
and layout—the fundamentals that make a design effective,
not just attractive.
- Knowledge of Print & Digital Production: Our team works
across many different mediums. We need a designer who
understands the technical requirements for both print and
digital—from file formats like vector vs. raster to color
modes like CMYK vs. RGB.
- Soft Skills (Interpersonal & Strategic)
- Creative Problem-Solving: An agency designer isn't just an
artist; they are a problem-solver. We need you to take a
client's brief and solve their communication problem
through your design.
- Strong Communication Skills: Our team constantly
communicates with clients, account managers, and
copywriters. You must be able to articulate the "why"
behind your design choices clearly and confidently.
- Adaptability and Resilience: The agency environment is
fast-paced. You'll hopefully be juggling multiple projects
with tight deadlines, and we need you to accept
constructive feedback and be willing to iterate on designs
as needed.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: We believe that the best
work comes from collaboration. We're looking for someone
Who Can Work Effectively With Other Team Members To
ensure a smooth workflow and successful project
outcomes.
- Attention to Detail: Precision is key to our work. We expect
you to have a meticulous eye for detail, ensuring perfect
alignment, consistent branding, and flawless execution in
every single project.
- Education & Experience
- Education: While a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a
related field is a common qualification, a stellar portfolio
and relevant experience can often outweigh formal
education.
- Experience: We typically look for a few years of
professional experience, preferably in an agency setting.
This shows us you're familiar with the fast-paced, clientfacing nature of the work. For senior roles, a track record of
leading projects is essential.
Ideally, we will find someone who is not just able to create pretty
visuals, but a versatile creative who can solve business problems
and translate a client's goals into a compelling visual language.
Competencies/Personality
Traits
Collaborative, ego-free, detail-oriented, professional with poise,
(Working with senior-level executives requires a high degree of
professionalism. This includes being punctual, organized, and
polished in all interactions. They must be able to remain calm under
pressure and handle critical feedback with grace and a constructive
mindset.), excellent communications skills, strategic and analytical
thinking (ask why and how), and be flexible and adaptable.
Prior Experience
Describe the prior working experience a
candidate should have.
We typically look for a few years of professional experience,
preferably in an agency or multi-services professional services
setting. This shows us you're familiar with the fast-paced, clientfacing nature of the work.
Performance Measurement
How can we measure performance for
this job profile (KPIs/Metrics/Targets)
Efficiency (Project & Process)
- Project Completion Rate: The percentage of projects
completed on time and within the original scope.
- Time Spent vs. Estimated Time: A comparison of the actual
time spent on a project versus the initial time estimate. This
helps us improve future project quoting.
- Number of Revisions/Iterations: The average number of
rounds of client revisions required to finalize a design.
Fewer revisions often indicate better initial communication
and understanding of the client's needs.
- Utilization Rate: The percentage of a designer's available
time that is spent on billable client work. A higher utilization
rate indicates a well-managed workload.
Quality (Brand & Design)
- Brand Consistency Score: A metric that measures how well
the final designs adhere to the client's established brand
guidelines (e.g., color, typography, logo usage). This can be
measured through audits or checklists.
- Client Satisfaction Score (CSAT): Feedback from clients,
often gathered via post-project surveys, on their
satisfaction with the design work and the designer's
professionalism and communication.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Internal feedback from project
managers, copywriters, and other team members on the
collaborative process and design quality.
- Impact (Business & Marketing)
- Client feedback: Qualitatively, we will be meeting with
clients throughout the project and asking for feedback on
our work product including brand identity materials and
content and digital assets for campaigns, ads, events, etc.
- Conversion Rate: The percentage of people who take a
desired action (e.g., fill out a form, download a whitepaper,
make a purchase) after interacting with the design. This is a
common metric for digital assets like landing pages and
banner ads.
- Click-Through Rate (CTR): For digital marketing assets like
emails or ads, this measures the percentage of people who
click on the creative, indicating its ability to grab attention
and drive action.
- Brand Awareness & Recognition: While harder to quantify,
this can be measured through metrics like social media
mentions, web traffic, and search volume for the brand
name following a new campaign or brand identity launch.
- Return on Investment (ROI): This is a high-level metric that
measures the financial return generated by the design
work. For example, if a new e-book design leads to X
number of new leads that generate Y in revenue, the ROI
can be calculated by comparing Y to the cost of the design
project.
