CDI Specialists & Inpatient Coders (Healthcare BPO)

Ideal Candidate
  • Must be a PHRN with an active license.
  • Must hold an active coding certification (e.g., CCS, CPC, CIC, CCA).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Inpatient Coding or Clinical Documentation Improvement for US healthcare clients.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, DRG systems, and Medicare guidelines.
  • Experience with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and collaboration skills.

Job Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze inpatient medical records to ensure documentation accurately reflects patient severity, risk, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to clarify documentation and ensure correct DRG assignment.
  • Identify opportunities for documentation improvement and provide constructive feedback to clinical staff.
  • Apply expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, MS-DRGs, and coding compliance guidelines.
  • Perform precise and timely assignment of ICD-10-CM/PCS codes based on comprehensive chart reviews.
  • Ensure accurate DRG assignment to support compliant hospital reimbursement.
  • Meet productivity and accuracy targets as defined by company and client standards.
  • Stay updated with official coding guidelines and payer-specific regulations.
