Job Purpose
The Junior Research Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day processing, coding, and analysis of data to support the Insights team. This role bridges the gap between traditional manual research and modern automation. You will ensure data accuracy while actively assisting in the implementation of Generative AI and automation tools to streamline our research workflows.

Skills And Experience
Educational Background

• Degree: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Fresh Graduates are highly encouraged to apply, especially those with relevant internships or capstone projects involving data and AI.

Technical Skills (The Essentials)

• Microsoft Excel Mastery: You must be comfortable with Pivot Tables, V-Lookups/X-Lookups, and logical formulas. You should enjoy "cleaning" messy data to make it usable.
• [Good-to-have] GenAI Literacy: Entry-to-intermediate experience using ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. You should know how to write clear prompts to summarize text, extract data, or brainstorm ideas.
• Data Comprehension: Ability to read large amounts of text (social media posts, articles, or reviews) and accurately categorize them based on sentiment or topic.

Technical Skills (The "Nice-to-Haves")

• Prompt Engineering: Experience with "Few-shot" prompting or using structured formats (JSON/Markdown) within AI tools.
• Basic Scripting: An interest in or basic knowledge of VBA (Excel Macros), Python, or SQL is a major advantage.
• Data Visualization: Familiarity with creating basic charts in Excel, PowerBI, or Canva.

Soft Skills & Workplace Competencies

• Attention to Detail: You are the type of person who catches a double space or a typo in a 500-row spreadsheet.
• Adaptability: Since the world of GenAI moves fast, you must be willing to unlearn old methods and test new tools every week.
• Logical Reasoning: Ability to look at a data point and ask "Why?" or "Does this make sense?" before passing it to the manager.
• Time Management: Capability to handle daily quotas and meet deadlines without sacrificing the quality of the data.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Data Processing & Coding
• Perform manual data coding and sentiment analysis based on established project frameworks.
• Clean and organize large datasets using Microsoft Excel to ensure they are ready for analysis.
• Maintain high accuracy and quality standards to ensure client reports are reliable.
• Monitor data volumes and flag any irrelevancies or anomalies to the Research Manager.
• AI & Automation Support
• Assist in testing and refining Generative AI (GenAI) prompts to automate manual coding tasks.
• Support the Research Manager in deploying automation scripts (VBA, Python, or Apps Script).
• Identify repetitive tasks in your daily workflow and suggest ways to automate them using AI tools.
• Stay curious about new AI trends and help the team experiment with NLP (Natural Language Processing) tools.
• Reporting & Collaboration
• Assist in the preparation of data visualizations and basic insight summaries for client reports.
• Collaborate with Research Executives and Managers to meet project deadlines and quotas.
• Provide feedback on the efficiency of new automation tools from a "user perspective."
