Position Overview

We are seeking a Spanish Bilingual Team Lead with strong medical billing expertise to oversee a team handling healthcare claims, denials, and appeals. This role requires leadership skills, bilingual communication, and technical knowledge of billing processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in revenue cycle operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team leadership: Supervise, coach, and mentor billing staff to meet performance and quality standards.
  • Workflow oversight: Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure timely resolution of claims and denials.
  • Medical billing expertise: Review claims, denials, and appeals for accuracy and compliance with payer requirements.
  • Appeals management: Guide the team in preparing evidence-based appeal letters using clinical guidelines and payer rules.
  • Bilingual communication: Act as a liaison with Spanish-speaking patients, providers, and insurers to resolve billing issues.
  • Quality assurance: Audit billing activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
  • Training & development: Conduct onboarding and ongoing training sessions to strengthen billing knowledge and bilingual communication skills.
  • Reporting & analysis: Track denial trends, prepare performance reports, and recommend process improvements to reduce future denials.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (clinical, finance, compliance) to streamline billing and appeals processes.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 2–3 years of medical billing, claims, or revenue cycle management.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience in healthcare or BPO settings.
  • Background in clinical appeals, denials management, or utilization review preferred.
  • Language skills: Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
  • Technical skills: Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems, billing software, and MS Office Suite.
  • Soft skills: Strong analytical ability, problem-solving, excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Other: Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
