About the Role:

The Design Management Architect is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the architectural design process for the assigned project or market segment. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, contractors, and project managers, to ensure that architectural concepts are translated into effective, innovative, and code-compliant designs. The role demands both creative vision and technical expertise, ensuring that all designs meet the company's quality standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.

What you'll do:

Design Coordination and Management

  • Lead Design Development: Coordinate the overall design process from conceptualization to final execution, ensuring that the design aligns with the client's requirements and project goals.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment on design intent and resolve any design issues that arise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Design Presentation: Prepare and present design proposals, sketches, and 3D models to stakeholders, providing clarity on the architectural vision and receiving feedback for improvement.
  • Manage Design Documentation: Oversee the preparation of architectural drawings and specifications at various stages of the project (schematic design, design development, construction documentation).
  • Quality Control: Ensure that design documentation meets the highest standards of accuracy, completeness, and clarity, identifying and resolving potential issues before the construction phase.
  • Building Codes and Regulations: Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards. Advise on potential code violations and suggest solutions.

Project Management and Execution

  • Timeline and Budget Management: Assist in developing project timelines and budgets, ensuring that the design process remains within budgetary constraints and is completed on time.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to allocate resources efficiently and manage workload throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Design Updates: Monitor the design process throughout construction, ensuring that changes are documented, approvals are obtained, and the design intent is adhered to during execution.
  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain ongoing communication with the Property Development Unit's (PDU) operations team (client) to ensure that their needs and expectations are met. Provide regular updates and incorporate feedback to adjust design solutions as necessary.

Design Innovation and Conceptualization

  • Creative Vision: Drive the conceptual design process, bringing fresh and innovative ideas to the table. Balance creativity with practicality, ensuring that the design solutions are both aesthetically appealing and functional.
  • Trend Awareness: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and design practices. Bring forward-thinking concepts to each project and encourage cutting-edge solutions.
  • Client-Centered Design: Adapt design concepts to the specific needs and preferences of clients, ensuring that the end product reflects the client's vision while maintaining design integrity.
