As an Estimator, you will be primarily based in our Estimating team, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of internal and external projects. You will work closely with the Estimating and Construction teams to develop efficient pricing models that maximize project value. This is an exciting role with the opportunity to shape and grow within the position.

What You'll Do
You'll be the kind of person who:

Estimating
  • Provide consistent and competitive pricing for all projects
  • Accurately interpret architectural plans and specifications
  • Prepare and submit tenders and cost estimates within project timelines
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers and subcontractors
Communication of Budget/Tender Progress
  • Track and communicate budget/tender progress to relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate with external trades for pricing and clarification
  • Identify and recommend cost-saving measures in collaboration with project teams
  • Maintain clear communication regarding project estimates, labour, and material costs
Project Completion
  • Document lessons learned and potential cost-saving strategies for future projects
  • Maintain organized records of completed projects and cost analyses
Systems: Efficient use of company estimating software (Buildsoft and Cubit) and preparation of reporting as required
OHS: Maintain a safety-first mindset at all times; Promote a safe and comfortable work environment for all team members

RequirementsWhat You Bring
We're looking for someone who:
  • Relevant experience in construction estimating or a similar field
  • General understanding of trade rates and construction costs
  • Ability to interpret architectural plans and specifications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and comfortable with spreadsheet formulas
  • Ability to quickly learn new business and estimating software programs
