The Cost Estimate Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and related projects. This role ensures that all estimates reflects project requirements, industry standards, and company guidelines. The engineer collaborates with project managers, design teams, and procurement to provide cost-effective solutions and support the bidding and project execution process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted works.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine scope and requirements.
  • Develop Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdown structures.
  • Conduct market research to obtain updated prices for materials, labor rates, and equipment
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to validate estimates
  • Evaluate risks, contingencies, and escalation factors in cost calculations.
  • Prepare and submit cost proposals, bid documents, and tender requirements
  • Support contract negotiations by providing cost analysis and value engineering options
  • Monitor actual project costs versus estimated costs and provide variance reports.
  • Maintain cost database and update historical project cost for future references.
