We are looking to hire a highly motivated and experienced Buyer who will be responsible for ensuring that the acquisition of goods and services are efficient and timely across the hospital. The Buyer ensures to implement all inventory controls and cost saving measures related to the purchase of supplies and materials by the respective departments in Chong Hua Hospital. Such activities may include, but not limited to, validation of requests, movement and storage of inventory, communicating with customers, vendors and suppliers, among others. S/He ensures that all procurement related activities are in alignment with the department's policies and standards.

The Buyer also assists the team with the sourcing, analysis and other contracting activities, such as review of contracts and agreements and will act as a mentor to junior staff members, including regular educational sessions for the procurement team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field with at least five (5) years in procurement - with supervisory position in materials management or the equivalent in education and experience required, inclusive of two (2) years specialist role in the procurement.
  • Knowledge in Economics and Accounting principles and practices required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; Strong negotiating skills; Strong mathematical skills and self-motivation required.
  • Advance ability in spreadsheet modelling software such as Excel is required and a moderate proficiency in PowerPoint presentation and data analysis.
  • Good English communication skills, both oral and written. Can speak the Visayan dialect and/or Tagalog.
