The Tax Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the firm and its clients comply with all relevant tax laws and regulations. This includes the accurate preparation, review, and timely filing of tax returns, monitoring changes in tax legislation, and providing advisory support on tax-related matters. The role requires strong knowledge of tax codes, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., VAT, income tax, withholding tax) in accordance with BIR regulations.
  • Ensure timely payment and submission of all required tax documents for the firm and its clients.
  • Review clients' financial records and reconcile tax-related transactions.
  • Advise clients on tax planning, compliance strategies, and risk management.
  • Monitor updates to local tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on clients.
  • Coordinate with the BIR and other regulatory agencies for audits, assessments, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain organized documentation and records of tax filings and correspondences.
  • Assist in internal and external audits related to tax matters.
  • Support other accounting and advisory teams as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 6 months of experience in tax compliance or a similar role, preferably in an accounting or audit firm.
  • Strong knowledge of the Philippine tax code and BIR regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
