Qualifications:

  • With experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Certified First Aider with valid qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations, standards and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with employees at all levels
  • Proficiency in incident investigation, risk assessment and hazard identification.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and committed to maintaining a safe work environment
  • Willing to travel for site visitation of different projects

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Implementing and enforcing safety policies, procedures and protocols to maintain a safe work environment
  • Providing first aid and emergency response support to injured or unwell employees
  • Organizing and facilitating safety training sessions for employee Investigating and reporting on incidents, accidents and near-misses
  • Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to address safety concerns
