Deputy Financial Controller — MGEN Renewables

The Deputy Financial Controller supports the Financial Controller in overseeing the financial health of MGEN Renewables. The role is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The position plays a key part in consolidating results across renewable projects, strengthening internal controls, and providing financial insights to guide strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting & Consolidation

  • Assist in overseeing consolidation of financial results across MGen Renewables' subsidiaries and joint ventures.
  • Ensure adherence to IFRS or applicable accounting standards and corporate financial policies.
  • Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and variance analyses to senior management.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead or support the annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and financial modeling processes.
  • Collaborate with business units and project teams to collect inputs and validate assumptions.

3. Financial Operations & Controls

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations: accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, intercompany reconciliations and cash flow tracking.
  • Strengthen internal control systems and streamline finance processes.

4. Strategic Analysis & Projects

  • Conduct financial analyses, scenario planning, and feasibility studies to support investment decisions for renewable energy projects.
  • Participate in evaluation of capex projects, acquisitions, or strategic initiatives.

5. Audit, Compliance & Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, regulators (e.g., SEC, DOE, ERC), and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
  • Assist in investor relations or management presentations by providing financial insights and metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA preferred; MBA, CFA, or relevant professional certifications advantageous.
  • 5+ years in financial planning, consolidation, corporate finance, or financial control; ideally within power, energy, or renewables sector.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, accounting operations, and variance analysis.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
