The salary offered depends on your skills, expertise, and evaluation results. Job Overview We are seeking an accomplished and strategic General Manager ( Manila Shared Services – Commercial Construction & Joinery) to build, lead, and scale a newly established operations team in the Philippines.

This is a critical leadership role reporting directly to the Director and supporting two growing commercial businesses in Australia—one in commercial construction , the other in high-end commercial joinery . You will be responsible for setting up and overseeing cross-functional shared services , including estimating , quantity surveying , finance and HR support , and marketing coordination . Your mandate is to establish a high-performing, agile, and accountable team that will serve as an operational backbone for the broader organization.

Your Responsibilities: Team Building & Leadership Recruit, onboard, and develop a full-function shared services team in Manila: Senior and Junior Estimators / Quantity Surveyors (Construction & Joinery) HR/Finance Reporting Manager Marketing Coordinator Design the team's structure, workflows, and KPIs in line with business goals. Lead with clarity and consistency, fostering a strong performance culture . Provide mentoring, regular feedback, and career development pathways for team members.

Operational Management Oversee estimating pipelines and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and profitability of tender submissions. Standardize workflows and documentation for consistency and efficiency across all service lines. Ensure team performance supports seamless project execution, with clear communication back to Australian operations.

Strategic Growth & Collaboration Act as the key bridge between Australia and the Philippines , ensuring alignment on project delivery and operational strategy. Collaborate with the Director on business expansion , identifying opportunities to scale services or add new functions to the shared services team. Drive continuous process improvements to enhance service delivery, responsiveness, and client satisfaction .

Financial & Performance Oversight Coordinate with the HR/Finance Reporting Manager to oversee budget tracking, cash flow forecasting, and WIP reports . Report regularly on team metrics, cost savings, and project outcomes . Offer commercial insights and improvement recommendations based on data and performance indicators.

What we're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Business , or related field. 10 years' experience in the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a senior operational or general management role .

Hands-on experience in estimating or quantity surveying highly regarded, particularly in commercial joinery or construction . Proven ability to build and lead teams remotely or in offshore/outsourced models. Deep understanding of project lifecycle costings , procurement, and estimating workflows.
