POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Application Manager leads the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise-wide IT projects and system implementations. This role ensures that technology solutions align with business goals, are delivered on time and within budget, and meet quality standards. The incumbent manages cross-functional teams, oversees vendor relationships, resolves operational issues, and drives continuous improvement in systems and processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
Project Management & Execution
- Lead end-to-end project lifecycle for IT initiatives including ERP, business applications, and automation systems.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Manage project resources, budgets, schedules, and risks.
- Ensure compliance with project standards and governance frameworks.
- Communicate project status, issues, and milestones to stakeholders and leadership.
System Implementation & Integration
- Oversee the implementation of enterprise systems such as Microsoft Dynamics D365, third-party business systems, and internally developed (homegrown) applications.
- Coordinate with vendors and consultants for system deployment and customization.
- Define system architecture and integration strategies across platforms.
- Ensure data migration, system configuration, and user acceptance testing are successfully executed.
Business Analysis & Solution Design
- Assist or lead requirements gathering efforts in collaboration with business analysts and developers.
- Support the documentation of business needs, functional specifications, and technical requirements.
- Participate in workshops, interviews, and data collection activities to clarify project scope and objectives.
- Help validate proposed solutions against business goals and technical feasibility.
- Contribute to the review of specifications and ensure alignment between business expectations and system capabilities.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Develop and execute test plans, scripts, and procedures for new and modified systems.
- Monitor issue tracking and resolution during testing phases.
- Ensure systems meet performance, usability, and security standards.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise internal and outsourced development teams, including business analysts and technical consultants.
- Manage daily operational tasks, workload distribution, and performance tracking.
- Ensure technical and functional issues escalated by team members are fully resolved and formally closed, following established support and documentation protocols.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Foster collaboration across IT and business units to ensure alignment and transparency.
Operational Oversight & Issue Resolution
- Monitor day-to-day operations of development and analysis teams to ensure smooth execution of tasks.
- Act as escalation point for system issues, bugs, and user-reported problems.
- Coordinate with Helpdesk and support teams to ensure timely resolution of incidents.
- Maintain documentation of operational procedures, resolutions, and system changes.
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and internal service delivery standards.
Training & Change Management
- Lead training initiatives by coordinating with internal resource teams to conduct sessions and ensure completion across all user groups.
- Oversee the scheduling, delivery, and tracking of training programs for new and modified systems.
- Support change management efforts to facilitate smooth adoption of technology solutions.
- Act as a liaison between IT and business units to address post-implementation support and user feedback.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in IT project management and system implementation.
- Proven experience in ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 or any equivalent) and relational databases (SQL Server).
Technical & Functional Expertise
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and distribution processes.
- Experience in application development, business process engineering, and system integration.
- Familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI), and enterprise platforms (e.g., Dynamics AX, D365, SAP, Oracle).
