JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary of the Role:

As a Global Travel and Expense Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for auditing travel and business expense claims, ensuring they are processed accurately, on time, and in line with company policies. This role will manage compliance, review policy exceptions, and keep global Travel & Expense (T&E) policies and system controls up to date, monitor performance metrics, resolve system issues, handle policy escalations, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Additional responsibilities involve leading Concur-related projects, driving process improvements, and collaborating with teams across Travel, Procurement, Finance, and IT.

Job Responsibilities and Role Accountabilities:

  • Leads a diverse finance team processing audit of travel & expense and reimbursable business expense claims accurately and timely.
  • Reviews and approves Concur expense claim exceptions and ensure compliance with Travel & Expense and Business Expense policies, audit requirements and controls.
  • Regularly reviews and updates the Global Travel & Expense and Business Expense policy and Concur system internal controls in collaboration with Global Travel and Finance Management team.
  • Leads global and regional Concur projects, including policy implementation, process standardization and harmonization, system enhancements, and process automation by collaborating with Procurement, Global Travel Team, and Concur IT team.
  • Analyzes KPI's and performance scorecards to improve efficiency and the level of customer service.
  • Troubleshoots Concur payments or integration failures with IT and leads decisions on escalation, resolution, and business notifications.
  • Acts as the primary escalation point for the SSC PH and regional finance teams for issues of misuse and non-compliance to global T&E and Business Expense policies.
  • Serves as approver for administrative and reporting user permission access via SNOW (ServiceNow) requests.
  • Develops and delivers global training programs and materials for employees, managers, and approvers regarding T&E and Business Expense policies, Concur system usage, and compliance expectations.
  • Provides support on Global T&E Reporting requirements by top management.
  • Liaises with Internal Audit to support audits, address findings, and ensure compliance with control frameworks.
  • Reviews team workload and allocates resources to ensure accurate and timely claim processing aligned with policies and controls.

JOB QUALIFICATION

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Financial Management, Business Management, or a related field of study.
  • Atleast 8 years of accounting experience in the Accounts Payable and Travel & Expense function.
  • Atleast 5 years of demonstrated experience leading and managing group of accountants and analyst.
  • Industry exposure in the Global Business Services or Shared Services setup is highly preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant is highly preferred.

Tools, System, Application and Technology Requirements:

  • Strong familiarity with financial software and ERP systems, particularly Oracle Cloud or SAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel.

Skills and Competency Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Corporate Financial Accounting principles.
  • Understanding of the Source to Pay and Travel & Expense business process.
  • Strong writing, communications, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organized individual with an ability to prioritize multiple activities in fast paced and changing environment.
  • Highly motivated, participative team player with the ability to perform in a result-oriented and time sensitive environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, with the flexibility to adapt quickly to change.
