Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Cost Estimator

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer – Cost Estimator to join our team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical, plumbing, sanitary, and fire protection projects. Your work will help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Cost Estimates: Gather material prices and other project details to create accurate cost estimates and proposals.

  • Use Estimation Tools: Utilize spreadsheets and approved formulas to calculate total project costs.

  • Review Plans & Specs: Analyze drawings and technical documents to determine material quantities and project requirements.

  • Analyze Costs: Break down and review all project-related expenses—including materials, labor, equipment, and tools.

  • Manage Cost Risks: Identify potential cost issues early to avoid delays and keep the project within budget.

  • Update Estimates: Revise cost estimates promptly when there are changes in the project scope or new details provided.

  • Evaluate Subcontractors: Review subcontractor proposals and assist with contract negotiations.

  • Document Materials: Record all required materials, including product codes, brands, and supplier contact information for easy ordering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Sanitary Engineering.

  • Licensed engineer (PRC or equivalent).

  • Experience in cost estimation for mechanical, plumbing, sanitary, and fire protection systems.

  • Strong skills in using spreadsheets and estimation tools.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and time management.

  • Proficient in PlanSwift, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
