Business Development Consultant (B2B)

Job Summary

The Business Development Consultant is responsible for generating new business opportunities and supporting the growth of existing client accounts.

Reporting directly to the Business Unit Head or Managing Consultant, this role involves lead generation, client engagement, consultative selling, proposal development, and coordination with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions. The ideal candidate is commercially driven, articulate, and comfortable engaging with senior-level stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Prospecting

  • Identify and qualify potential clients through databases, referrals, and networking events
  • Review archives and revive dormant prospects and existing accounts
  • Maintain accurate records of calling activities, lead status, and daily sales reports
  • Network internally across business units to identify cross-selling opportunities

Client Engagement & Meetings

  • Set and organize client meetings, including scheduling and agenda preparation
  • Conduct research on target companies, industries, and key decision-makers
  • Lead discovery discussions to understand client objectives, challenges, and requirements
  • Present company profile, solutions, and service offerings in a professional and compelling manner

Proposal Development & Sales Support

  • Assist in the preparation of customized proposals and presentations based on client needs
  • Coordinate closely with immediate superiors and internal stakeholders for proposal inputs
  • Present proposals to clients and manage feedback, revisions, and follow-through
  • Support contract drafting and endorsement upon client approval

Account Coordination & Support

  • Co-manage client database and communication records
  • Assist in coordinating program delivery and post-sales support
  • Communicate upcoming programs, solutions, and opportunities to clients
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned in support of business growth
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Psychology, HR, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in business development, sales, or client-facing roles
  • Proven track record of success in new business development, preferably within professional services, consulting, L&D, recruitment, or outsourcing industries
  • Experience in B2B or corporate sales is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage senior-level stakeholders
  • Strong commercial acumen and a strategic mindset to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities
  • Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a high-performing team
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in English (oral and written)
