About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer with strong business acumen to join our consulting team. This is not a junior coding role. We need someone who thinks like a consultant: understanding customer requirements deeply, identifying potential issues before development begins, and delivering solutions that genuinely solve business problems.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of Business Central (or NAV) experience and the maturity to engage confidently with clients, challenge requirements when needed, and take full ownership of quality delivery.

Business Understanding & Consultative Mindset

  • Critically evaluates requirements and proactively identifies gaps, risks, or issues with planned solutions
  • Understands how businesses operate and ensures development aligns with actual business needs
  • Confidently makes recommendations on alternative approaches when appropriate
  • Engages professionally with international clients and stakeholders

Technical Delivery

  • Designs, develops, and maintains AL extensions for Business Central
  • Configures core BC modules (Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Manufacturing)
  • Creates and modifies RDLC report layouts for business documents
  • Executes data migrations with near-perfect accuracy and attention to detail
  • Tests thoroughly and only delivers working, production-ready solutions

Documentation & Communication

  • Produces clear, well-written requirements documentation, test plans, and user guides
  • Communicates effectively in writing, particularly via email with clients and internal teams
  • Logs work completed, tasks, time entries, and comments against tasks thoroughly

Requirements

  • REQUIRED: Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or Microsoft Dynamics NAV
  • Proven AL development and extension building skills
  • Strong RDLC report development experience
  • Track record of successful data migration projects
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Reliable internet connection suitable for video calls
  • SQL development experience is a plus
