Production Planning Associate

The Production Planning Associate will play a key role in supporting the production planning team by managing schedules, coordinating workflows, and ensuring the efficient use of resources to meet production targets. This role requires close collaboration with the manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and inventory control teams to optimize production plans, monitor progress, and make necessary adjustments to maintain timely delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and Maintain Production Schedules

• Assist in creating production schedules that align with sales forecasts, inventory levels, and business goals, ensuring timely production and delivery of finished goods.
• Monitor production schedules and workflows, making adjustments as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, production delays, or equipment issues.

Coordinate with Procurement and Logistics Teams

• Work closely with the procurement team to ensure the timely availability of raw materials, packaging supplies, and components required for production.
• Collaborate with the logistics team to track shipments and manage the inbound flow of materials, ensuring that production schedules are maintained without disruptions.

Monitor and Track Production Progress

• Continuously monitor the progress of production activities, identifying and addressing any issues or delays in collaboration with the production team.
• Communicate production updates to relevant stakeholders and adjust schedules to meet shifting priorities or unforeseen challenges.

Inventory Management and Optimization

• Take responsibility for maintaining optimal inventory levels for daily production, including materials such as packaging, fish, and labor resources. Ensure that stock levels align with production demands.
• Collaborate with inventory control teams to track and manage raw materials and finished goods, ensuring minimal waste and efficient use of resources.

Analyze Production Data and Performance

• Record and analyze production results, including production output, efficiency rates, and any issues encountered. Use this data to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Prepare reports on production performance and provide insights for the planning and leadership teams to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Category Ownership and Vendor Relations

• Take ownership of specific production categories, including tracking the flow of raw materials from suppliers to the production line and reporting on finished goods output.
• Communicate regularly with vendors regarding raw material quality, ensuring that any quality claims or deviations from expected standards are promptly addressed and resolved.
• Manage quality claims for raw materials when results fall outside of acceptable ranges, coordinating with suppliers to resolve issues and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Adjust Production Schedules as Needed

• Respond quickly to changes in production needs by adjusting schedules and reallocating resources as necessary. This may involve adapting to fluctuations in demand, resolving production delays, or responding to equipment malfunctions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Participate in cross-functional meetings with teams from manufacturing, procurement, inventory control, logistics, and sales to ensure that production plans align with overall business needs and objectives.

Support Continuous Improvement Initiatives

• Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements within production planning and related systems, contributing to ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing production costs.
• Implement best practices in production planning and actively support efforts to streamline workflows and improve resource utilization.

Compliance with Policies and Standards

• Ensure that all production planning activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of production schedules, output, and performance metrics, ensuring transparency and accountability across the production process.

Requirements

• Having experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Industry
• Having experience in handling frozen and fresh products is an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Average verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work in the graveyard shift.

Education

• Graduate of any 4-yr business course
• At least 1 - 2 yrs. related experience in production planning, manufacturing, or supply chain management
• Proficient w/ MS Excel and other MS applications
