Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer with a strong focus on claims to join our team. This role goes beyond traditional scheduling and planning—it requires a deep understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and delay analysis techniques to support the preparation and defense of claims for delays, disruptions, and extensions of time (EOT).

The ideal candidate will have a background in engineering and construction planning, with hands-on experience in forensic scheduling, claims analysis, and contract administration.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain baseline and updated project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar tools.
  • Monitor and track progress, analyze variances, and identify critical delays or risk areas affecting project timelines.
  • Support the preparation and submission of Extension of Time (EOT) claims, disruption claims, and associated narratives.
  • Perform delay analysis using appropriate methodologies (e.g., Impacted As-Planned, Time Impact Analysis, As-Built vs. As-Planned, Window Analysis).
  • Collect and organize all relevant project data (RFIs, change orders, site instructions, progress reports) to support claims.
  • Prepare detailed event chronologies and maintain impact logs for claims and dispute documentation.
  • Coordinate with the contract and legal teams to provide inputs into claims strategy and documentation.
  • Provide planning support during dispute resolution processes, including adjudication, arbitration, and litigation.
  • Review contractor and subcontractor schedules for alignment with project milestones and claim accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations regarding notifications, claims procedures, and records.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in the construction industry, with at least 2 years focused on claims or dispute-related roles.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and claims procedures.
  • Solid knowledge of construction processes, sequencing, and project lifecycles.
  • Experience with delay analysis and forensic planning techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and report writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
