Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the development and maintenance of backend APIs and services for the Nixplay mobile and web applications. Your expertise in CoffeeScript, NodeJS, and JavaScript is essential to our mission. You'll be responsible for supporting existing codebases, refactoring CoffeeScript to TypeScript, and crafting reusable, testable, and efficient code.

Requirements:

• Proven experience with high-volume consumer apps at scale.

• Extensive and deep knowledge of CoffeeScript, NodeJS, and JavaScript.

• Proficiency in database systems, including mySQL, DynamoDB, and memCache (Redis).

• Familiarity with Docker containers and Kubernetes.

• Proficient in CoffeeScript programming language and tech stacks.

• Expertise in Automation/DevOps principles and experience with operational tools.

• Familiarity with infrastructure and software deployment best practices using AWS CloudFormation and Jenkins.

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as DataDog and Loggly.

• Full software development lifecycle experience.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend APIs and Services for the Nixplay mobile and web applications.

• Provide support for existing codebases.

• Refactor CoffeeScript to TypeScript for improved efficiency.

• Create reusable, testable, and efficient code.

Experience & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience with CoffeeScript.

• 3+ years of experience with and JavaScript.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

• Exceptional knowledge of frameworks and packages, including Express, Lodash, Knex, and Sequelize.

• Expertise in working with MySQL.

• Proficiency in microservices architecture, both with shared and individual databases.

• Solid understanding of working with RESTful services, AWS API Gateway, and AppSync/GraphQL.
