About the Role:
We are seeking a highly accurate and detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to support daily cash processing, posting, allocation, and reconciliation activities. This role ensures timely application of payments, maintains financial accuracy, and supports continuous improvement within the Accounts Receivable function.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Process and apply daily cash receipts accurately and on time
  • Exercise judgment in applying cash application rules based on standards and customer requirements
  • Process cheque payments sent to lockbox and scan physical cheques for deposit
  • Record and file cheque copies for reconciliation and audit purposes
  • Process and apply credit card payments in ERP systems
  • Allocate wires and direct deposits to correct customer accounts and invoices
  • Manage customer payment accounts in ERP (NetSuite)
  • Investigate and process refunds for duplicate/overpayments
  • Handle NSF transactions and related documentation
  • Reconcile deposit clearing accounts for cheques, credit cards, and EFT payments
  • Prepare journal entries for bank fees, credit card fees, and month-end activities
  • Process small balance write-offs and monthly adjustments
  • Respond to payment inquiries from customers and internal teams
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to drive efficiency
  • Provide backup support to other finance team members
  • Participate in special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Cash Applications
  • Strong customer service skills and professional communication style
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Must be willing to work following North American business hours
