Key responsibilities

  • Install and repair: Install and repair pipes, fittings, fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers), and appliances (dishwashers, water heaters).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot: Analyze and diagnose plumbing system issues to determine the root cause of problems, such as leaks, blockages, or pressure issues.
  • Perform maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to avoid future problems. This includes tasks like inspecting for leaks, clearing drains, and flushing sediment from water lines.
  • Comply with regulations: Ensure all installations and repairs meet local and state building codes, as well as industry safety standards.
  • Manage documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and time spent.
  • Respond to emergencies: Be available to respond to emergency plumbing calls to quickly address urgent issues.
  • Communicate: Effectively communicate with customers, management, and other contractors to explain problems and provide solutions.
  • Handle equipment: Use a variety of hand and power tools to perform jobs, and maintain all tools and equipment in good working order.
