Customer Journey Expert – Data Modeller
Financial spreading squad – WB Tribe Lending
For our client's Wholesale Banking (WB) Tribe Lending we are looking for a Customer Journey Expert for Lending Financial Spreading squad. This squad is part of the Portfolio Monitoring Rating and Financials Product area in Tribe Lending.
Within our Client they have embarked on our Accelerate Think Forward journey to build the next generation digital bank. We strive to provide (beyond) banking services which are personal, relevant, instant and seamless. We have always been at the forefront of providing new innovative services and exploring new technologies. At this moment we see a lack of automation, standardization and scalability in the processing of transactional data and service requests via our Wholesale Banking Lending core systems. Ideally all our client service request and transactional data will be automatically processed via different channels and interfaces that reduces handling time for our customers and users and increases efficiency of repetitive/manual activities and help us to scale our services on a global scale. Your work environment
You will work within the WB Tribe Lending. The purpose of our Tribe: "Create a fast, seamless, personalized & data driven digital Lending Xperience for borrowers, our client's employees, investors and regulators". The Tribe is responsible for streamlining the lending process, to make it easier, more reliable and controlled. This includes lending products like loans, discount loans etc., of bilateral and syndicated deals. The Financial Spreading squad focussed on the financial data capture and making that available for reuse across the bank. This includes the design and implementation of financial models to support among other the rating, credit assessment and reporting purposes.
Our clients are spread across 40 countries; we are converging to one way of serving our clients, delivering an uniform client experience across countries.
Your role as Customer Journey Expert – Data Modeller
As a Data Modeller in the Lending Tribe, you will find your home base in the Data Modeller Center of Expertise. From there, you will serve a squad in one of the dedicated product areas or expertise centers, addressing their data modeling needs. Data Modellers are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data models in relational databases and unstructured forms to enable innovative problem-solving, insights, behavior models, and communicating how those findings support improvements in decision-making, reliability, customer experience, profitability, etc.
Your key responsibilities
- You define business requirements for the development of products and services
- You are responsible for configuration of financial models that are used for data capture and financial modelling
- You will translate requirements into easy-to-understand stories and features
- You are able to perform (automated) testing and facilitate and support user acceptance testing for new releases;
- You perform functional support to the main users of our applications;
Data Modeling and Collaboration:
Act as a bridge between analytics and IT teams, bringing a data-driven perspective to the business.
- Leverage data modeling skills to create data models that would serve the Data Engineers to build new databases
Data Structure and Applications:
Design and enhance data structures to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Modify applications to extract relevant information from company databases.
Industry Interaction:
Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and industry experts.
- Understand how data should be transformed, loaded, and presented.
We are looking for
Proactive and ambitious CJE who can add value based on his/her in depth knowledge about Wholesale Banking Lending and has working knowledge on financial statements and modelling and likes to work in a combined business/IT environment. You are passionate, bring new ideas, are open and a great team player.
Proven track record and technical skills:
- Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field
- At least 5 years of experience in data analysis, data modelling, database design, or related IT roles (banking or financial domain preferred).
- Understanding of data modelling concepts (conceptual, logical, physical).
Familiarity with data modelling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner, SQL Developer Data Modeler). - Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
- Exposure to data warehousing concepts (star/snowflake schema) is a plus.
- Understanding of ETL, data governance, and metadata management preferre
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills for working with both technical and business stakeholders
- You have a pro-active can-do attitude,
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity
- Thrives in a collaborative (virtual) team environment, working closely with colleagues across various locations that are working towards common goals
