Job Title: Level 3 Remote Engineer – Managed Service Provider (MSP)
Rate: $12–$20/hour (DOE)
Schedule: Full-time (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM New Jersey Time)
Workdays: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday (New Jersey Time)
Location: Remote (Open to full-time or 2 part-time hires)
Job Summary:
We're hiring a Level 3 Remote Engineer to join our MSP team. You'll handle high-level technical support, infrastructure optimization, and escalation management. This role is perfect for a highly skilled, independent tech expert who thrives in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve escalated Level 3 tickets (servers, networks, end-user systems)
Manage client infrastructure (Windows/Linux servers, Azure, AWS, VMware, Hyper-V)
Implement and monitor firewalls, patch management, backups, and security protocols
Design and troubleshoot LAN/WAN/VPN environments (routers, firewalls, switches)
Support cloud environments (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS)
Lead/assist in client projects (network upgrades, deployments, migrations)
Guide Level 1 & 2 engineers and handle escalations
Communicate with clients clearly; document work in ticketing systems (ITGlue)
Set up disaster recovery and automation (PowerShell, Bash scripting)
Required Qualifications:
5+ years in a Level 3 or Senior Engineer role (MSP preferred)
Expert-level Windows Server and Linux admin skills
Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, VMware, Hyper-V
Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs)
Familiar with tools like Kaseya/N-Able, RMMs, and ITIL best practices
Strong security background and compliance experience (HIPAA, GDPR)
Scripting with PowerShell, Bash, or Python
Nice to Have:
Certifications (Azure, AWS, VMware, CompTIA, etc.)
Cybersecurity tools implementation experience
Knowledge of Ansible, Puppet, Chef (automation tools)
Experience with SonicWall, Ubiquiti, and HP servers
Soft Skills:
Clear communicator (tech and non-tech)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Customer-focused and collaborative mindset
Self-starter with solid time and task management
