Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Executive to lead customer retention and market development efforts for our steel drum products. This role is critical in driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong competency in sales, excellent communication skills, and a strategic mindset to identify new business opportunities while nurturing long-term client relationships.

Primary Function

The Sales Executive is responsible for driving revenue growth through both customer retention and market development. This includes managing and expanding the company's steel drum customer base, preparing accurate sales forecasts to support efficient production and procurement planning, identifying new business opportunities, and cultivating strong client relationships.

Key Competencies

This role requires results-driven sales professional with proven experience in account management and business development. The Sales Executive will:

Maintain and grow relationships with key clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Collaborate cross-functionally with the Plant Manager, Operations, Finance, and other internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Demonstrate strong communication skills (verbal and written), business acumen, and a deep understanding of customer priorities such as cost-efficiency, product quality, responsiveness, and ethical standards.

Monitor and report on competitor activity and market trends to inform strategic decisions.

Major Responsibilities

Business Development & Market Expansion

Identify and evaluate new business opportunities through market research and industry analysis.

Generate new leads and convert them into long-term clients.

Develop and execute strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the company's customer base.

Client Relationship Management

Build and maintain trusted relationships with existing clients to ensure continued business and prevent churn.

Provide prompt support, address quality concerns, and resolve customer issues to maintain trust and satisfaction.

Serve as the primary liaison between key customers and internal teams.

Sales Strategy & Forecasting

Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts using key account metrics.

Analyze customer data and market trends to inform production planning and raw material procurement.

Recommend product improvements and innovations based on market feedback.

Professional Development & Knowledge Sharing

4.1   Stay current on industry trends by attending workshops, reading professional publications, and participating in networking events.

4.2   Share sales strategies, and product knowledge to support team learning and capability-building; mentor colleagues to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.

4.3   Promote continuous improvement by benchmarking best practices and contributing to organizational standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

5.1   Maintain daily communication with the Plant Manager, Production Planner, Operations, and Finance to ensure alignment on customer needs and market intelligence.

5.2   Collaborate with internal departments to resolve technical and procedural concerns and drive effective solution implementation.

Additional Duties

6.1  Contribute to team goals and perform other tasks as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in industrial or manufacturing sectors.

Proven track record in account management and market development.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer orientation.
