We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our client's team and play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure. This role places a stronger emphasis on Azure, MOE, and Intune, reflecting evolving client needs and the expansion of modern workplace environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft 365 services, virtualization platforms, and modern infrastructure technologies, with the ability to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient solutions that support business growth.

This role requires both hands-on technical capability and problem-solving skills to ensure system reliability, performance, and alignment with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and maintain Microsoft 365 environments, including Azure framework/design, Intune (device compliance, provisioning, endpoint management), Entra, Exchange, and SharePoint configuration/migration.
  • Support and maintain MOE (Microsoft Office Environment) configurations and modern workplace operations.
  • Manage and optimize virtualization platforms (e.g., Nutanix, VXRail, XCP, Proxmox, vCenter, HyperV).
  • Implement and support containerisation solutions (Kubernetes and related tools).
  • Oversee and maintain enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam, Datto, or Commvault.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver infrastructure and cloud modernization projects.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and availability, proactively resolving issues and identifying improvements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, processes, and best practices.
  • Stay updated with emerging Azure, Intune, and modern workplace technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.

Essential Experience/Knowledge:

  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including:
  • Azure framework/design (must-have)
  • Intune (device management, policies, compliance, Autopilot, modern provisioning)
  • Entra
  • Exchange
  • SharePoint
  • Solid understanding of virtualization technologies (one or more of: Nutanix, VXRail, XCP, Proxmox, vCenter, Hyper-V).
  • Hands-on experience with containerisation / Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in enterprise backup solutions (Veeam, Datto, Commvault).

Preferred but Not Mandatory (Favourably Considered):

  • Certifications in Azure, M365, Intune, or Modern Workplace (preferred as validation shortcuts but not required if skills are strong).
  • Knowledge of Process Control Networks (PLC/SCADA).
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
  • Familiarity with SharePoint workflows and design.
  • Scripting skills in Python, Go, or PowerShell.
  • Competence with Linux CLI and services.
  • Experience managing enterprise storage solutions.
