The Financial Operations Reconciliation Specialist will perform a various array of tasks related to supporting our clients' internal business activities in the payments space. The potential candidate should ideally possess the following traits:

  • Capable of approaching problem solving in a logical manner, as the candidate may be faced with analyzing various situations needing further investigation.
  • Maintains high level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information to ensure data security and maintain trust.
  • Adaptable and open to learning new tools and techniques to stay updated and perform effectively.
  • Comfortable with handling and interpreting data as these may be needed in the resolution of various incidents
  • Being organized and able to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure all accounts are properly reconciled.
  • Be a good communicator and able to comfortably engage in collaborative conversation since there will be frequent dealings with both internal and external stakeholders.

The day to day activities

The day to day activities of a Reconciliation Specialist may vary depending on the specific disputes. However, some common tasks and responsibilities may include:

  • Reviewing financial records: The specialist will review and analyze financial records, such as the settlement reports, transaction reports, cashouts and cashins data and other relevant reports needed in identifying discrepancies.
  • Conducting reconciliations: The specialist will perform reconciliations by comparing records and identifying any variances or inconsistencies.
  • Investigating discrepancies: If discrepancies are identified during the reconciliation process, the specialist will investigate the cause of the discrepancies. This may involve communication with various stakeholders, such as the partner merchants, the banks, customers, or internal departments such as the support, tech team, or finance, to gather additional information to resolve the discrepancies.
  • Resolving issues: Once the cause of the variances is identified, the specialist will work to resolve the issues. This may include requesting settlement adjustments, adjusting entries, billing creation, payment requisitions, or coordinating to other departments to rectify any errors.
  • Maintaining documentation: The specialist will maintain records of the reconciliation for future reference.
  • Communication: The specialist will be tasked to communicate with the stakeholders to provide updates on the reconciliation process, address any concerns or inquiries, and ensure timely resolution of issues.

The Must-Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, or accountancy preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience in account reconciliation or 5 years for an unrelated degree.
  • Strong Excel skills, attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work across a matrix environment and a fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong investigative ability and logical thinking.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Php35,000.00 per month
