Job Purposes

Provide safe, therapeutic, and client-centered massage services—addressing pain, stress, muscle tension, and functional limitations—while upholding clinical protocols, hygiene standards, and excellent patient experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Conduct intake (history, pain scales, contraindications) and obtain informed consent; explain procedure and expected outcomes.
  2. Perform appropriate modalities (e.g., Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Thai, Sports, Prenatal, Myofascial release, Trigger point, Lymphatic drainage, Hot stone) based on assessment and MD/PT referral where applicable.
  3. Apply proper draping, positioning, and pressure; adjust techniques to patients, comorbidities, and tolerance.
  4. Monitor and respond to adverse signs/symptoms; escalate to clinician when necessary.
  5. Create and maintain accurate SOAP notes, treatment plans, and progress updates; record duration, techniques, and patient response.
  6. Coordinate with referring physicians, physical therapists, and nurses for integrated care and follow-up.
  7. Protect confidentiality and records in line with privacy policies.
  8. Adhere to infection control standards: hand hygiene, linen management, tool/equipment disinfection, waste segregation.
  9. Maintain a clean, calming, and hazard-free treatment area; ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  10. Observe occupational safety protocols (body mechanics, breaks, hydration) to prevent therapist injury.
  11. Demonstrate empathy, cultural sensitivity, and professional communication; handle feedback and service recovery.
  12. Provide home care guidance (stretching, hydration, heat/cold use, posture/ergonomics).
  13. Where applicable, support retail recommendations (e.g., topical analgesics) consistent with ethical guidelines.
  14. Manage schedules, timekeeping, and patient flow; minimize wait times and no-shows.
  15. Participate in team huddles, audits, trainings, and quality improvement projects.
  16. Assist in inventory of oils/lotions/linens and small equipment.

Job Qualifications


• High School graduate or higher required.


• TESDA Massage Therapy NC II (or Hilot (Wellness Massage) NC II).


• Current Basic Life Support/First Aid certification is preferred (e.g., Red Cross/authorized provider).


• Occupational Safety & Health orientation (per DOLE guidelines) is preferred.
